Mexico declaring its independence from Spain on Sept. 16, 1810, is a serious point of pride among the Mexican community. If you need proof of that, just check out the slate of entertainment scheduled for this week.

MGM Grand Garden Arena hosts one of the most successful Hispanic artists in history, Alejandro Fernández, whose forays into all aspects of his culture—folk, mariachi, ranchera, charro and more—have helped him sell more than 20 million records. His bona fides include two Latin Grammy Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Mandalay Bay’s Michelob Ultra Arena has packed its slate this week with plenty of options. Banda MS and Eden Muñoz, who teamed up to release “Hay que Hacer Dinero” in April, are sure to create a fun evening of both great music and message; Caifanes, part of the rock en espanol movement, have opened for The Rolling Stones; Gloria Trevi (often referred to as the Madonna of the Mexican pop scene) is sure to keep her fans dancing all night with hits like “Satisfecha,” “Ultimo Beso” and “Dr. Psiquiatra”; Los Angeles Azules, specializing in the cumbia genre, is so popular internationally that they have performed at Coachella; and Carin León, who went solo in 2018 after leaving Grupo Arranke, saw his career get a significant boost after a video of him performing “A traves del vaso” at a local festival in Hermosillo in 2018 went viral.

Caesars Palace’s Colosseum is sure to be packed for the arrival of Emmanuel’s Toda La Vida Tour. The iconic Spanish pop singer has been performing for nearly five decades, and is sure to bring hits like “El Dia Que Puedas,” “Con Olor a Hierba” and “Este Terco Corazon.”

Planet Hollywood Resort’s Zappos Theater welcomes back a familiar face: Rapper Pitbull, who packed houses there during his previous residencies. Mr. Worldwide’s shows will have his audiences exhausted from dancing to hits like “Give Me Everything,” “Rain Over Me,” “Timber” and “Don’t Stop the Party.”

Resorts World Theatre hosts one of the biggest international artists around, Enrique Iglesias, who has sold over 70 million records on the strength of singles like “Hero” (a crossover hit extraordinaire), “Away,” “Be With You” and “Bailamos.”

The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will also have audiences dancing. Grupero band Bronco has been performing for more than four decades, selling more than 10 million albums in the process. Rounding out the week will be singer-songwriter Pancho Barraza, who focuses on regional Mexican music.

But this week isn’t just about music. Hispanic comedian Gabriel Iglesias (“Fluffy” to his fans) hits The Mirage as part of its Aces of Comedy series. Iglesias has had success at many levels, from his Netflix stand-up specials to his work in movies like the Magic Mike franchise.
